Pop played heavy!!

How did you guys meet?

We’ve all know each other for years through being in different bands in the local scene. Tom, Brett & Jim have been in the band since the beginning of 2013, then Rob and Nate joined for the new line up a couple of years later.

I always imagined that bands spend hours rehearsing in a garage, and one day a music exec drives past, hears them play, does a handbrake stop (obviously adhering to the Highway Code), jumps out the car and signs them on the spot! Is the reality anything like that?

Not at all, haha!!

Growing up who were your musical influences?

Blink 182, New Found Glory, Jimmy Eat World, Fall Out Boy, A Day to Remember, 5ive and S Club.

You guys punk up such a huge variety of songs, any favourites?

I think the heavier we can make a song, the funnier it is which then becomes our fav! We’ve recently done a version of Shania Twain’s “That Don’t Impress Me Much” which just sounds ridiculous.

(I heard them rehearse it, it’s brilliant!)

Time for some confessions!

Who is most likely to attempt a stage dive?

I think any of us given the chance.

Who most likely to actually be successful at a stage dive?

Jim successfully stage dived on our first appearance at Teddy Rocks fest back in 2013! And was even surfed back to the stage in time to finish the song.

What’s the worst/cheesiest song you’ve sung when stuck in traffic? (mine was singing Donna Summer’s “Hot Stuff” at the traffic lights, the white van stopped next to me couldn’t stop laughing)

Kenny Chesney – Beer In Mexico

What’s the funniest thing that’s happened to you on stage?

When we played a gig at an army camp and Jim was fireman carried off stage halfway through our cover of Diamonds (Rihanna). He was then taken to the other side of the field to a mechanical pig ride and attempted to sing the rest of the song while holding on – he lasted less than 5 seconds!!

As well as appearing in local venues, weddings and events, you guys are supporting S Club and 5ive this weekend, but can you remember the dance moves to S Club’s “Reach For The Stars”?

Of course not! (Secretly we know them all)

Which album cover throughout music history is most iconic to you?

The Black Album (Metallica)

What’s your life motto?

A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away…
