Two Day Celebration
Lucy & Kag had a two-day wedding celebration at the incredible Watermouth Cove, Ilfracombe.
With nods to both their Scottish and African heritages, this beach wedding was a non-stop party!
Ceremony Rehearsal
It’s not often I’m invited to the rehearsal, but I’m so glad I was there. It was such a beautiful moment, standing on the clifftop, with the sun setting and the cool beach breeze, to witness how excited they both were about their wedding the next day.
Lucy even wore the dress and cape she had worn to their African ceremony a few weeks before.
The Pool Party
As friends and family had travelled from around the world, they decided to start the weekend with an epic Pre-Wedding-Pool-Party!
Everyone laughed, and cheered, meeting new friends and making a mighty splash!
Morning Preparations
They opted to start getting ready at Coulscott House as some of the family were staying there. This also meant they called all relax and have a hearty breakfast before the ceremony, with the final touches being done at Watermouth’s Prep Suite.
Lucy had designed her wedding dresses herself, and even had her veil custom-made with a little nod to how they first met.
The Ceremony
With bagpipes leading the guests the way, the couple were married on the clifftop with panoramic views of the Devon coast, surrounded by tropical flowers and their loved ones. The ceremony was a true celebration!
I can honestly say I have never danced so much during a wedding ceremony, but they had chosen the Key Notes Choir to sing during the ceremony, and they got everyone dancing!!
Afternoon Celebrations
We spent the afternoon laughing and trading stories whilst enjoying the sun, the beach, and some delicious haggis canapes!
Our Newlyweds
We took a moment just for the newlyweds and walked down to the water’s edge for some photos and to explore the tidal caves.
Lunch & Speeches
The room had been filled with lots of personal touches, and the menu was a beautiful combination of fresh delicious flavours. Of course, you may have guessed by now, the newlyweds walked in to even more dancing and music!
When it was time for speeches, we all listened to tales about the couple and the room filled with laughter and cheers.
Cake Cutting
And what did they use to cut that incredible cake? A sgian-dubh of course!
Sunset
With the most incredible sunset, the Watermouth Team swept us away in a golf buggy to the viewpoint to enjoy the golden sky over the coast.
Evening Celebrations
Champagne, paella, and marshmallows!!! What more can you ask for to get a party started!
Dancing
The Key Notes Choice had us back dancing, and Kag even wore Lucy’s family tartan, as the dancefloor erupted with everyone showing off their best dance moves!
Sparklers
With the night officially at a close there was just one more thing to do, to send them off a little bit of sparkle.
