The first thing you might notice about this blog is that I didn’t take a single photo. Not one. They were all taken by Sacha Louise Photography, so I suppose I should really start the story from the beginning.
How This Started
Photographers talk A LOT about being body positive. We talk about how you are beautiful, and how you should love your awesome self, how you shouldn’t delay moments or photos, but do we practice what we preach?
I asked my friend Sacha, from Sacha Louise Photography whether she would mind doing a body positivity shoot with me as the model.
“But I want to be wearing a fabulous dress, styled in my normal rocky way, and I want to run into the sea.”
Cold Feet: Figuratively and Literally
I hear a lot of people say how they feel nervous in front of a camera, trust me, photographers are no exception!
To add to the nerves and the classic “What do I do with my hands” feeling, I had to stop myself from wondering about what settings she was using, was the aperture correct, would I be too backlit, would the cold (it was 2C with ice on the sand) be too much for the camera?
There was no need to be nervous, it’s also why it is worth chatting and getting to know your photographer. We know our stuff. We know how to get you to pose without realising you’re posing. How to make you laugh. How to make you sit still. And how to make you feel fabulous.
As you can clearly see, Sacha SLAYED this assignment, the photos look amazing, and dang I look hot!
The Moral Of This Tale
So the moral of this tale is this:
YOU ARE AMAZING
YOU ARE UNIQUE
Stop delaying moments, experiences, photos, travel, life, whilst you “lose 5lb”, “go the gym”, “dye your hair”, “fix your teeth”, or those other excuses we all tell ourselves.
YOU ARE PERFECT JUST AS YOU ARE AT THIS EXACT MOMENT.
Remember, be proud of who you are and always #ShowYourUniqueStyle
