Donkey Down Campsite

Situated just outside the seaside town of Weymouth, Dorset, Georgia (she/her) and Morgan (he/him) chose Donkey Down Campsite as the location of their alternative festival wedding.

Nods to the couple’s love of music were everywhere, and the marquee had been decorated with rock legends like the Beatles, David Bowie, the Rolling Stones, the Who, Jim Hendrix, Fleetwood Mac and the Sex Pistols on each table, all made by the bridal party. A stack of cheese wheels in place of a traditional cake, and the entire wedding camped the whole weekend, making it truly special.

Groom Prep

Morgan and his party got ready in the north field, having spent the night camping and almost being blown away by the high winds.

Bridal Prep

Whilst the lads got ready in the North Field, Morgan and her party opted for the slightly more sheltered South Field. Although one of their gazebos had blown down in the middle of the night, they were in high spirits getting ready.

Georgia’s dress was a beautiful soft pink, embellished with white floral lace from @bridalreloveddorchester.

Her party wore sage green dresses, adorned with embroidered flowers.

Even Daisy, our newlywed’s dog, got to dress up for the occasion, sporting her bright green frog backpack, perfect for her official role as ring bearer.

After a beautiful and tearful moment with Georgia’s father seeing her in her dress for the first time, Georgia gifted her bridal party with necklaces, each with their names engraved next to a flower.

The Ceremony

Nestled amongst the trees, surrounded by loved ones, Georgia and Morgan were married by celebrant, @missy_moonbeam.

There were tears, there was laughter, there were stories, but this intimate woodland wedding was filled to the brim with love.

As part of the ceremony, each of their guests wrote their wishes & dreams for the couple, and tied it to the arch under which they said their wedding vows.

Surprise Sea Shanty!

As we walked from the ceremony to the main field, the air filled with the sound of sea shanties.

The Dorset Mutineers, a local sea shanty band, was a surprise organised by the Groom’s parents as a way to kick off the celebrations!

Rossi's Icecream

But sea shanties weren’t the only surprise.

The couple had organised local legend, Rossi’s Ices, to serve ice cream for their wedding guests. Rossi’s family have been serving ice cream in Weymouth since 1937, and is a true favourite for all the locals. (Seriously, if you are in the area, that’s where you go for good ice cream!)

Group Photos

No boring line-ups here!

The group photos were an inclusive and chaotic fun, and it was imperative that Daisy the dog was in the photos.

Morgan and Georgia sat atop a hay bale, whilst we grabbed seats and benches to ensure that everyone could be included and celebrated in their photos.

The Newlyweds

We strayed into the neighbouring field, to give Georgia and Morgan a well-deserved moment of peace and to absorb the day unfolding around them.

But don’t worry, Daisy of course joined us, we couldn’t leave her out!

First Dance

When we returned from our frolic in the field, the band were doing their sound check, leading to an alternative first dance! Georgia and Morgan couldn’t help themselves and immediately started dancing, letting their personalities shine, and truly enjoying themselves as they grooved to their band.
